Guacamelee! Hits Next-Gen Consoles July 1st, 2nd

When it comes to Lucha Libre-inspired action platformers, they don’t get much better than Guacamelee!

I’m not sure what I like most about it: The clever art style and storytelling? Perhaps. It could be the perfectly paced gameplay that has you learning new moves and abilities at all the right times – that’s a possibility. Of course, there’s also its INCREDIBLE SOUNDTRACK.

All I know is that when Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition hits the PlayStation 4 on July 1st, I have a great excuse to revisit this awesome game.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition boasts a ton of content and features, including a new boss (El Trio), new abilities, different Trophies, and DLC from the original game.

If you’ve already purchased Guacamelee! for the PS3 or PS Vita, the team at Drinkbox Studios is working on an “incentive” to help save you some money on the PS4 version, but still have to figure that out.

Likewise, while there’s no current plan for a Vita release, the team at Drinkbox seems hopeful, commenting, “Sadly, we will not be releasing Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition on the Vita along with the PS4. You never know about the future though.”

Also coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U on July 2nd, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be $14.99. The original game is fantastic, and if you missed it, here’s your chance to redeem yourself.
