Pre-Order Pre-Loading Coming to PS4

According to a report by DualShockers, the PlayStation 4 will finally begin pre-downloading (or pre-loading) digital pre-orders later this year, starting with Destiny.

Unfortunately, only certain games will have this capability, and it’s availability may depend on whether the developer/publisher allows it.

This is something I was talking about just yesterday when I pre-ordered Transistor. I was stunned that it didn’t drop at midnight (as I’d hoped) and was surprised that there isn’t a current “pre-load” option available on the PS4 (a feature already available on Steam).

It seems like it would save a ton of waiting on the gamer side of the transaction, especially since digital is supposed to be fast, easy, and convenient. To be honest, it might actually give digital pre-orders on the PS4 some value.

Oh, and in case you didn’t already know, Destiny is currently slated for a September 9, 2014 release, so it looks like we’ll have to wait until then.
